Eric Raskopf is a trusted Wisconsin attorney known for his many successes in traffic and criminal law. He is a kind and caring person, but don’t be fooled by his friendly demeanor — his stance in the courtroom setting is nothing short of aggressive. This valuable combination of compassionate counsel and zealous representation is the secret to his success, although his extensive understanding of the local legal system has also proven quite useful.
Education and Career Background
A Midwesterner at heart, Eric has consistently demonstrated a passion for his community’s wellbeing during his time as an undergraduate student, a law student, a lawyer, and more recently, a student of theology. His journey began at the acclaimed University of Wisconsin, where he exercised his passion for all things Badger before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Shortly thereafter, he relocated to Adelphi University, where he joined the Lawyer’s Assistant Program. He quickly returned to the Midwest, but this time to Ohio, where he studied at Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and served as a law clerk for the city of Shaker Heights.
After briefly working with Devito & Associates and the Law Offices of William A. Pangman & Associates, Eric decided he could be of best use to the community if he opened his own law firm. Following several years as a sole practitioner, he joined the A/V rated law firm Schober, Schober & Mitchell, S.C. as a criminal defense attorney. Today, he serves Waukesha, Jefferson, Dodge, and Milwaukee Counties through the Raskopf Law Office.
Awards and Associations
The best lawyers do not stop learning when they depart law school, but rather, continue to expand their understanding of the legal industry through involvement in multiple professional organizations. Eric is currently a proud member of the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He has also been involved with the American Bar Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association, the Oconomowoc Board of Zoning Appeals, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys.
Eric’s courtroom successes and involvement in the legal community have resulted in several awards and distinctions. M Magazine highlighted him as one of Milwaukee’s Leading Lawyers in 2012, 2014, and 2015.
